Love is in the air

Love

Well of course it has to be the Love block on Valentine’s Day.

Did you get a special surprise from your Valentine today? Go on, its easy to think of something ‘nice’ to do today – my favourite would have to be my most favourite flower – roses…. dont expect to get any today though but I can look at them in my garden….

Of course you may have stitched your block and given it to that special person in your life – attached to a bottle of wine of course! mmm maybe you could make it into a wine bottle holder? Here is a simple free pattern to make one, or I am sure you could adapt your own.

Do you know the story behind Valentines’ Day? Here is the wikipedia version

Valentine’s Day is a holiday celebrated on February 14. In North America, it is the traditional day on which lovers express their love for each other by sending Valentine’s cards, presenting flowers, or offering confectionery. The holiday is named after two among the numerous Early Christian martyrs named Valentine. The day became associated with romantic love in the circle of Geoffrey Chaucer in High Middle Ages, when the tradition of courtly love flourished

What did you get today?

hugs, Helen
